WEBNevus simplex, or salmon patch, is a benign vascular malformation seen in 30%–40% of infants. Most lesions are self-limiting, resolving spontaneously between the ages of 1 and 2 years. The most affected areas of the skin are the occiput and posterior neck; however, facial, scalp, and sacral involvement can also be seen.
