In Norse mythology, a dís ( Old Norse: [ˈdiːs], "lady", plural dísir [ˈdiːsez̠]) is a deity, ghost, or spirit associated with Fate who can be either benevolent or antagonistic toward mortals. Dísir may act as protective spirits of Norse clans.
