Should lobbying be legal?Yes lobbying should be legal but the amount of money that can be contributed to campaigns should be curtailed. Today there is a limit on what members of Congress and their staffs can take as gifts etc. That should be even more stringent. – Do these bribes in congress also come from foreign countries also?
How did lobbying become legal?The traditional legal answer is that lobbying is protected under the 1st Amendment which specifically prohibits Congress from abridging "the right of the people...to petition the Government for a redress of grievances".
