WEBCENTER FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING ‑ The term "center for independent living" means a consumer‑controlled, community‑based, cross‑disability, nonresidential private nonprofit agency that is designed and operated within a local community by individuals with disabilities and provides an array of independent living services.
WEBThere are 15 Centers for Independent Living (CILs) in the State of Florida and three satellite offices. CILs are a one-stop resource for Floridians with disabilities, providing a variety of programs and services. Our collective goal is to assist these citizens to live independently in their community of choice.
WEBFounded by and for people with disabilities to secure the rights, accommodations, and resources needed to live and be supported in their/our communities, CIL serves as a model for 400 independent living centers nationwide and in 20 countries.
